What We’ll Cover
Fall Cohort: September 13 - December 6, 2024
In the first half of the course, you’ll learn about trauma-informed approaches to health coaching, and discover how coaching differs from therapy and nutrition counseling. Topics include:
The impact of trauma on health and wellness
Foundations of motivational interviewing for health
Building trust and rapport
Coaching session structure
Coaching for common physical conditions such as metabolic syndrome, diabetes, hypertension, and substance use
In the second half of the course, we’ll turn our attention to fine-tuning coaching approaches to mental health and trauma with topics including:
Pathophysiology of stress
Mental health nutrition
Assisting clients to integrate health information
Physical activity
