Meet the Faculty

  • Meg Bowman

    MS MA CNS LDN CHES

    For Meg Bowman, nutrition is a vocation. She's quietly (sometimes loudly) disruptive of diet culture BS, and enjoys helping her clients and supervisees find their power. She sees clients with eating behavior, mental health, and GI challenges using a weight inclusive functional medicine lens. In her job as co-founder and clinical supervisor at Clinician's Incubator, she provides case consultations and mentoring for nutrition professionals. She sees clients at Nutrition Hive, and loves dogs, books, and tea, as well as a good joke and well placed swear word.   • Alyson Roux

    MS MFA CNS LDN NBC-HWC

    Alyson is a clinical nutritionist who specializes in working with healing relationship to food and eating disorders, mental health, related gastrointestinal conditions, as well as fertility support for those in recovery from ED. With her background working in the arts and entertainment industry, Alyson has special interest in working with artists and health behaviors. Alyson has presented on health education and nutrition topics at Actor's Fund, SAG-AFTRA, PGA, Dance Resource Center, and the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals Annual Symposium.   • Ashley Comparin

    MS CNS LDN

    Ashley graduated with a MS in Nutrition from American University and is currently working as a clinical nutritionist at Nutrition Hive as well as her work helping supervisees at Clinician’s Incubator understand the nuts and bolts of the Supervised Practice Experience to become a CNS. Ashley specializes in gut health, intuitive eating, and sports nutrition and enjoys photography, cooking, and hiking in her free time.

  • Amber Ferschweiler

    MPH NBC-HWC

    Amber is a national board-certified health and wellness coach, a mindful eating facilitator and a public health professional. She has worked in the field of health care for over 20 years as a health coach, health educator, and environmental health specialist and holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Biology and a master’s degree in Public Health.

  • Kathleen Belonga

    MA NBC-HWC C-IAYT E-RYT 500

    Kathleen is a health and wellness professional with a masters degree in workforce education, development, and leadership offering over a decade of experience in the wellness industry. She has a graduate certification in holistic health, as well as certifications yoga, mindfulness, functional nutrition, and yoga for bone health. The health and wellness coaching field speaks to her personal journey in overcoming her own health issues, passion for motivating others, and commitment to holistic well-being.

  • Emily Cerda

    MS CNS LDN NBC-HWC

    Emily Cerda is a clinical nutritionist specializing in pediatric allergy, anxiety, and attention. In her private practice, Beyond Behavior Nutrition, she works with children, adolescents, and their parents to explore the influence of food on mood and behavior while building lifelong skills for a future of resilience and health. Emily also works as a Teaching Assistant in the Nutrition & Herbal Studies department at Maryland University of Integrative Health and as a Nutrition Consultant with Solid Starts, an online resource for baby-led weaning. When she is not working or homeschooling her kids, she enjoys gardening, long hikes with her beagle, and painting rocks to hide in her community.

  • Laura Demeri

    MS DipACLM NBC-HWC

    Laura is an award-winning educator, national board-certified health and wellness coach, and a diplomate for the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. With over 10,000 hours as faculty teaching health courses, physical education, and health coaching content, and over 10K sessions as a health coach for Kaiser Permanente, she seamlessly weaves theory using real-life scenarios. Her passion is helping individuals believe in their potential, and she is honored to be a part of their journey. She's delighted to have helped develop the content of Nested's curriculum and to be a part of the team. In her spare time, she can be found at a dog park, trying to exhaust littermate Labradors who have boundless energy, excitement, and love.
